Sun Microsystems
Shortly after Sun launched a new site, many users complained about the new interface, especially the unorthodox home page design. Although striking with a large background image, the site suffered from serious usability issues. We were asked to redesign the home page with a user-centric aesthetic. The Sun flag was used as a header throughout the site and we moved the navigation to a more traditional left column area. After the redesign we produced a detailed style guide for the internal team to maintain the standards moving forward. Subsequent usability testing confirmed the redesign objectives, users were able to use the site more effectively and the brand implementation was more consistent throughout the user experience.
