TIBCO Software needed a redesign for an internal application. Before migrating the application to an open source CMS called Drupal, it was decided to address the issue of usability. Donoughe Design joined forces with Studio Asterisk to redesign the UI before the technology team got started. Interviews with experienced users confirmed that the primary objective of the application was to search a large database of information, and do it quickly and efficiently as possible. The redesigned UI allowed for users to quickly search and search again with narrowed results. We delivered a paper prototype document, followed by a more comprehensive work-flow, and finally, layered PSDs for the development team.
